A safe, environmentally friendly and highly effective cleaning method that is suitable for a variety of commercial and industrial applications
Dry Ice Blasting
The Dry Ice Blaster uses a pressurised air stream to direct a spray of dry ice at dirty surfaces in order to clean them.
Dry ice cleaning is a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to pressure washing or abrasive blasting. In a manner similar to those other blasting methods, Dry Ice blasting uses a pressurized air stream to accelerate particles directed at surfaces for cleaning. However Dry Ice Cleaning uses dry ice, the solid form of carbon dioxide, blasted at supersonic speeds using a compressed air gun. These solid particles lift dirt and contaminants off surfaces and then sublimate into the gaseous form of carbon dioxide, a natural component of air, leaving no residue on the surface.
Dry Ice Blast Cleaning is a flexible method of cleaning, suitable for many different materials and surface types. By selecting the different pressures, rates of pellet usage and nozzles it can be attuned to clean soft plastic surfaces or, at higher pressures, for tougher jobs like paint removal from metals.
How Dry Ice Blasting WorksDry Ice Blast Cleaning removes scaling and contaminants in three ways:
- The force of the dry ice pellets being propelled by compressed air at supersonic speeds
- The thermal effect of the dry ice hitting the surface contaminants loosens adhesion
- The expansion of dry ice, by a factor of 800 times when evaporating to its gaseous form, lifts the dirt or scaling from surface
Regular fogging will help prevent cross-infection of bacteria and viruses such as MRSA, Coronaviruses - COVID-19, Ringworm etc. in line with current HSE guidelines.
